Heart Sutra Science – An Introduction
July 5th, 2009 by temnoon

Form is Emptiness,

Emptiness is Form

With those simple words, the Bodhisattva of compassion encapsulates mind and universe. The words limit, define, and expand all that has ever been, all that can ever be, all which could ever be real or imagined.

  • Form is Emptiness – The forms we observe are built on fundamental emptiness, at many levels
  • Emptiness is Form – Forms exist in a dynamic movement of canceling forces, at many levels.

My intention is to use the insights this statement evokes to build a coherent science, including metrics, models, predictions, and correlations between observed phenomena.

I seek to derive physics, without losing the underlying fundamental connection between the physical and “Spirit”.

In building a science, I am not trying to replace any old science, rather I am teaching the critical skill of creating a science. Building a model of the ways of the world based on what is in front of you, and everything you have learned in your life is what Heart Sutra Science is about. If you believe a “fact” that you don’t fully understand, then you have given up a bit of responsibility for your world.

Can you talk about electromagnetic charge using your system? I have been puzzling lately over the origins of charge.

And are you familiar with Ken Wilber’s work and how he talks about the interior of matter all the way down to the lowest levels and all the way up to the highest? Very interesting.

You’ve got some interesting thoughts here.

Thank you for mentioning Ken Wilbur. It inspired me to look up an essay where he talked about the necessity of comparing paradigms, and allowing everyone to be right, now seen in a wider context that includes, enfolds, and enacts the new paradigm. I have his collection “Quantum Questions” that he cites in the essay. I think he is on target with his metatheoretical framework, and I admire his precision in constructing his Integrative approach, of lines, waves, levels, etc. His general focus has been in the social organizations and human potentials that have been and can be realized, especially when you integrate all the knowledge of the world, and really optimize your mental state, which leads to lots of good things.

My focus is the foundation of the enterprise. I think I would refocus what I think the enterprise is, which is showing a groundwork of how to build a personal science, which would be in no need of belief, because spirit and physics would both be understood in concrete and specific experiences, understood against the initial foundation of “Form is Emptiness, Emptiness is Form”.

Electromagnetic charge is a byproduct of an “emptying” which happens at many different frequencies, but in a regular pattern mirrored at different levels. It is the rainbow of a moment time. Each moment forward is balanced by an equal moment back. I’ll get to it. Welcome!

I can’t wait! Cuz I didn’t understand that. LOL The mirror references, tho, remind me of something I read a few weeks back about gnostic ideas dealing with anti-matter. Fun, fun shit!

I think your focus fits inside of his general meta-understanding of stuff. You’re focusing on a scientific epistemology, of sorts, which assumes a constant which is VERY integrative. It’s potentially a unifying theory. That fits inside of science & cognitive line as well as touching on all sorts of other great stuff. Since the scientific community is STILL choking on their 16th century assumptions, it needs fresh thinking. Ken has been trying to find fresh, integrative thinking for this field. I think you could provide a unique and valuable perspective.

Just my 2-cents.
